🎨 Days Until Holi

There are

days until Holi (March 14)

About Holi

Holi is a popular Hindu spring festival celebrated primarily in India and Nepal, also known as the "Festival of Colors" or the "Festival of Love." It signifies the triumph of good over evil, the arrival of spring, and the end of winter. The night before Holi, bonfires are lit in a ritual called Holika Dahan. On the main day, people gather in streets and open spaces to throw colored powders (gulal) and colored water at each other, dance to music, and share festive foods and drinks. Holi breaks down social barriers, with people of all ages and backgrounds celebrating together.

How to prepare for Holi

Buy organic or natural-dye color powders (gulal) to be kinder to your skin and the environment. Wear white or old clothes you don't mind getting stained — that's half the fun. Apply coconut oil to your skin and hair before playing to make color removal easier afterward. Prepare traditional Holi treats like gujiya (sweet dumplings), thandai (spiced milk), and malpua (pancakes). If attending a public Holi event, keep valuables in a waterproof bag and bring a change of clothes. Stay hydrated and wear sunscreen under the color.
